It all began in 2004, After having worked in the Bank and in a public listed company, I left to do something more meaningful in life to keep life simple and easy. Its just great to get all the pressure of my head and do something I like most. Something small, simple, easy and without much fuss. Haha ! When I can approve my own annual leave and medical leave and of course to do something I like most - a small business and I really mean something small. Well it was not an easy start. Getting used to carry briefcase and putting on neckties its just hard in the beginning to make the change. This time around carrying 'tong' (wooden container) of nasi lemak. For those who does not know what nasi lemak, its the popular choice of morning breakfast for all Malaysians - its coconut rice serves with fried anchovies, dried chili paste. boiled eggs , fried ground nuts and slices of cucumber and of course there are those side dishes such as chicken and beef rendang or curry to go with. But preparing nasi lemak in the wee hours and while others are sleeping its just challenging. To wake through all the night (in fact early morning) and sell in the morning one has to be mentally and physically strong. The challenges does not stop there. Selling by the roadside (or sidewalk) there are even more challenges. The unexpected rain the fierce competition (as the so called sidewalk lots are freely registered), the unwelcome city council authorities who with the big fat blue lorries will cart your folded tables away and you are left with nothing at the end of the day. After few months selling nasi lemak at the sidewalk (near NIKKO Hotel), I decided with the advice of my customers to venture something new. So I started to sell sandwiches Learning the skills and the 'art' of sandwich- making I began with selling sardine, egg and tuna sandwiches. With the support of my customers the menu has since grown up to more than 20 types of sandwiches. Of course selling by the sidewalk and with limited hours (about 3 hours) the menu keep changing every day. Presently u can get me on weekdays from 0630 - 0830 at my mobile kiosk (its like car boot sale) in front of Bangunan Getah Asli Jalan Ampang or opposite the famous Petronas Twin Tower How about that ? If u cant get into the twin towers (where the rental is sky rocketing) be by its sides yeah! Make it simple kakaka But now my sandwiches are alresdy in KLCC Shhhh !! keep it secret but of course the prices are different from the sidewalk Some customers have even asked me why I do not want to use the folded tables and placed it besides my car ? That is a good question ? The answer is simple !! I find it convenient and easy to 'run' when the authorities come after me 'On your mark get set and run' failing which u will get the unwanted heavy summonses and your tables carted away. As for now I have launched my blog for online orders Customers (I like to call them my friends) may place online orders before 5pm and collect the orders the next day at my 'mobile kiosk' Or sms or simply call my mobile number 0174141396 To all my customers u are simply great in supporting me. TQ.
